No red wine excites me more than Pinot Noir. In fact, many of the world’s best Sommeliers consider it as the greatest red grape. Rajat Parr, a world renowned Somm, said “at its best, it can make the most transparent, the most sensual and ethereal red wines in the world.”
This week at Monopole, we’d like to invite you to explore and discover the nuances and elegance of this beautiful red wine. I’ve personally selected three wines from three very famous pinot noir growing regions – Burgundy, California and New Zealand. The idea is to give you a flavor of what each “terroir” can express. They are incredibly diverse in styles and, hopefully, you can discover what wine style suits your palate best.
The thing I love most about wine is that there’s no wrong or right answer. Ultimately, you’re the best judge of your own palate. You’re in for a few surprises!
Finally, fine wine is best enjoyed in the company of friends. A complimentary glass of bubbly will be served for groups of 3 or more.
This feature on pinots will run for a week starting Monday, 6th of July 2015. We hope to see you here at Monopole.
